Processing Facility Concept in Isiolo

Processing Innovation

Our vision for local value addition and market expansion

Note: This processing facility is in the planning phase. Construction is scheduled to begin in Q3 2024.

State-of-the-Art Processing Facility

We are developing a modern processing facility in Isiolo County that will revolutionize the gum arabic value chain in Kenya's ASALs, creating local jobs while dramatically increasing our capacity to deliver premium products to global markets.

Currently, most gum arabic collected in Kenya is exported as raw material, limiting both the value retained within local communities and our ability to ensure consistent quality. Our planned facility will change this dynamic by enabling local processing, quality control, and value addition.

Facility Features

Our planned processing facility is designed to optimize efficiency, quality, and sustainability at every stage of the value chain. Here's what will make it exceptional:

Advanced Quality Control

State-of-the-art testing equipment will ensure our gum arabic meets international standards for food safety, purity, and functional properties.

Renewable Energy Powered

The facility will operate primarily on solar power, with energy storage systems to ensure continuous operations while minimizing our carbon footprint.

Water Efficiency

Innovative water recycling systems will minimize consumption in the water-scarce ASALs region, with rainwater harvesting supplementing our needs.

Skills Development Center

An integrated training facility will provide workforce development for local community members, creating a pipeline of skilled technicians and operators.
